The two, aged 14 and 16, were caught at Raymond Avenue and Cedar Street after a short chase. The two had a North Face backpack containing a Chrome Book computer that matched the description of items belonging to a Cedar Street resident. Someone entered the resident’s vehicles and rummaged through them, police said.

Each of the juveniles was charged with three counts of burglary, as well as one count each of theft and obstruction. They were being held at the Essex County Youth House.

The two may also be responsible for a burglary on Bloomfield Avenue Wednesday night, police said. An investigation into the break-ins continued Friday and may lead to more charges against the two, police said.
